![]() If you're like me, you probably
spend hours browsing the internet for information about Jane Austen, or the latest Regency romances out there, or about
the various Jane Austen Productions. And you perhaps sneak a look every now and then at Colin Firth or Matthew Macfadyen playing Mr Darcy. After watching Lost in Austen, I admit I like to revisit Elliot Cowan, too.
So which Darcy is your favorite? Colin Firth is perhaps my favorire, but Macfadyen makes a good, angst-driven Darcy as well. I love Elliot Cowan's parodic portrayal of the character as well. He portrays the stiff and formal gentleman really well, though of course he carries it too far. There have been so many productions of Jane Austen's novels in the last fifteen years, it's been a veritable feast.
So many possibilities, so little time! Some of my other Jane Austen heroes are Rupert Penry-Jones as Captain Wentworth,
Jonny Lee Miller as the first romantic Mr Knightly, and David Morrissey as Colonel Brandon. With so many wonderful pages to choose from, it's hard to choose where to go! Here are some of my favourites. I hope you will enjoy them as I do.
